When should parents let their teens make their own decision? Parents should let their teens make their own decisions according to when they see the teen’s maturity, when they are going to school with no problem bringing home good grades, and when that child proves that they are responsible and trust worthy away from home. The parent should let their teens make their own decision at a proper age of seven-teen and older and possibly have a part time job. I believe that each child is different and has their own way of handling life situations. Therefore it is good for parents to have a good bond and relationship with their children because if they don’t most of their teens will rebel when they get a chance. If parents are being role models and setting good examples it is more likely the child will do what is right when decision making for themselves. A parent should know when their teen is mature enough to make some decisions and when they are not ready. The way to tell is when a teen is very open with the parent, honest, following rules and have good intensions. When a teen is continually bringing home good grades, very responsible, helps their parents out around the house, follow the rules by doing what they are told, they should be the ones that are allowed to make a few decisions on certain things that the parent approves of. These few reasons are proving to the parents that some teens are capable of handling themselves in certain situations. It is so hard to give any teen the power to make their own decisions; some parents make all the decisions for their teen, but I do feel that if you give a teen a little ability to make some choices on their own they will do what is right. Some teens grow up without ever making a decision for themselves and learning along the way; the parents do not allow their teen to decide on anything until they are grown or have a job to take care of their own bills and self. This does not always have a good outcome for that teen in some cases. Then there are just other teens that feel in order to get out of the nest they have to get up, get out, and get something going for themselves and make the best out of their lives. Everyone is different and I do believe that it starts at home with how the parents raise their children and how much the parent allowed the teen to make decisions on their own. I say a little lead way at a time when the teen proves they are worthy, and not too much were that child may accidently set themselves up for failure.

My writing process is very simple and probably used by many others as well. I have so many writing processes to help me write my papers. First to get me in the mood to write is sometime listening to music or having the television on so that I can hear something. Making sure that my comfort place is warm and cozy is a must because if not I would procrastinate. In order for me to write a good paper each day I brainstorm and come up with different ideas and write them down with no corrections, until I am about to edit and write my final paper. I write down as many topics and ideas about what I am writing about and try to turn them into long paragraphs, and sentences. If I run out of things to write about or discuss in my paper I would then turn to the internet for a few extra resources to help me grow my paper or give me more ideas to build me an essay. One idea that I found out that I do is when I find something to write about I don’t stop even if I know that I have made many mistakes I keep going then at the end I would go back and revise and take out the things that don’t go with my essay or the things that were irrelevant. When I am writing I go through so many rough drafts sometimes I would start three different papers about the same topic, and if they relate I would combine all of my work together, and if they don’t relate I take the papers that are more developed, organized and edited and use those for my final paper instead. For my writing process I have been trying to not ramble, jump around the topic, and forget what I am getting across to the reader. I try to be simple and to the point so that the reader is able to comprehend. Not that I always do but, I also try to use more vocabulary words in my essay to keep the reader thinking, and learning new things.

Why did I decide to come to Mountain View College? I came for a successful future, I see college is where it would begin for me, because it opens a door of new opportunities, and new learning experiences. This will prepare me for what I want to pursue in my career. I want to earn my associates in psychologist, and even some certificates for child development to benefit me and allow me to make more money. There are a few reasons that I choose to attend Mountain View College, one is because my family and a friend have told me that this is a great college to get an associate’s degree. I have been told that their classes are self paced, useful, and the instructors are very helpful. One of the most rewarding things is I am being a role model for my family. I see college transforming me into that woman that I believe I can be; that is more professional for the business environment, and always carrying myself in a sophisticated and respectful manner. Very educated and having behind me first and most God and the knowledge to succeed and overcome any obstacles in front of me. College is also a step up for me; I am the first in my family to actually attend. So when I really made that move to go back to school they were very happy for me and it began to motivate them to do more with their lives. I know that me going to college makes a difference, my baby sister has already applied to over 8 colleges her senior year and 5 have accepted her. My older sister started some classes online to get her back on track. So I am setting a new tradition for my family members in the process. Sometimes it is so easy to tell people go to college it’s the best choice you can make, but sometimes they need to see someone going and see how it is benefiting their lives. My motto is let’s not talk about it let’s be about it. That’s the reason that I am attending Mountain View college, times are getting harder and if its education that make it a little easier for me than that is the direction I will continue to go down, because not only am I making a difference in my life, but also in those lives around me.

“How did I get to Mountain view?” &”Why am I in college?”

Currently the way that I get to Mountain View College is by car, my fiancĂ© every morning drops me off. When I am out, he also comes to pick me up and take me directly to work. I am at Mountain View College because family and friends have told me that this is a good college. I attended here last semester, and enjoyed myself so I am back once again looking for another great semester. I am in college to receive certificates for my job to make a better salary, or get a better position. I was also beginning to feel complacent, and like I wasn’t doing much with my life so I felt college would help give me a since of direction and fulfillment. Another reason that I am in college is because I believe that it will benefit my future, I am trying to go for my A.A.S a technical degree plan and I am praying that I am going about it the right way. I am hoping to get my associates from MVC, and transferring over to a 4 year college. I work with children for child development, but I would enjoy even more to be a counselor, social worker, or psychologist. I am also here because I so badly want to make something out of myself, I don’t want to sit around and let my life pass me by and these great opportunities that I have right now. I want to educate myself more so that I can be more prepared for the world and working environment.
